Wageningen Social & Economic Research

Wageningen Social & Economic Research provides the insights and strategies needed to transform global agrifood systems. We help policymakers and decision makers in the agrifood sector to advance the transition to a fair and just food system, for a healthier and more just future.

Wageningen Social & Economic Research was created from the merger of Wageningen Economic Research and the Wageningen Centre for Development Innovation. Within Wageningen University & Research, Wageningen Social & Economic Research is part of the Social Sciences Group, together with the university’s Department of Social Sciences. This makes Wageningen Social & Economic Research the research institute within Wageningen University & Research that, together with partners, can identify transition paths to just and sustainable food systems in the Netherlands, Europe and worldwide, can help shape transition processes and can offer science-based perspectives for action.
